I may just be a simple guy, but I follow Hollywood and the lives of our Nation’s rich famous just as much as the next guy. Some say it is a waste of time. Others disagree. I want to just talk about Jamie Tisch since she is often over looked as a pretty former spouse of a Hollywood exec. The truth is Jamie Tisch gives a lot she is involved with Fashion and raising lots of money for Cancer Research. Ultimately she is a great example of how Hollywood can give back.

Health Care Overhaul Redux

I’m sure health care is getting its fair share of coverage, but I just wanted to share with you an commoner like myself feels. On one hand I am very in favor of universal coverage, since I believe a health society is a strong and successful society, but on the other hand I am very weary of the government stepping in smothering the innovations that private health care has made through a forced public option. Not to mention there are some fantastic health insurers already out there, besides medicare and medicaid. Cinergy Health, Aetna, and Cigna are just some of the exemplary private insurance companies out there. So if they already exist, why crush competition?

Greg Oden: Off Court Superman

As everyone knows Greg Oden is my favorite player. Not only is he a superstar on the court, but he is one off court as well. Greg Oden set up Team Oden a mentoring program through Oregon Mentors a few years ago and it has ballooned since then. A friend of mine whose cousin is in it, just loves it. Greg Oden is always helping out and inspiring the organization to do more.

Hi everyone. I decided to start my own blog. I realized how much I love to write how much I have to write about. After all, my life here in Portland is anything but dull. I love to go out and see the sites and sounds of my home town. And of course nothing beats seeing the Trailblazers play and my favorite player Greg Oden dunk over the other team.
